Hakim-hakim 1:35

1:35 The Amorites managed ¹  to remain in Har Heres, ²  Aijalon, and Shaalbim. Whenever the tribe of Joseph was strong militarily, ³  the Amorites were forced to do hard labor.

Hakim-hakim 15:13

15:13 They said to him, “We promise! ⁴  We will only take you prisoner and hand you over to them. We promise not to kill you.” They tied him up with two brand new ropes and led him up from the cliff.

Hakim-hakim 19:5

19:5 On the fourth day they woke up early and the Levite got ready to leave. ⁵  But the girl’s father said to his son-in-law, “Have a bite to eat for some energy, ⁶  then you can go.”

[1:35]  ² tn Or “Mount Heres”; the term הַר (har) means “mount” or “mountain” in Hebrew.

[1:35]  ³ tn Heb “Whenever the hand of the tribe of Joseph was heavy.”

[15:13]  ⁴ tn Heb “No,” meaning that they will not harm him.

[19:5]  ⁵ tn Heb “and he arose to go.”

[19:5]  ⁶ tn Heb “Sustain your heart [with] a bit of food.”
